B.Com or Bachelor of commerce is graduation course students often prefer after completion of class XIIth in commerce, as it leads to multiple career opportunities. It is a 3 years under graduation programs offered by various colleges & universities either with direct admission with appropriate specified marks or through clearance of admission exams.

Admission process:

Admissions for B.com are held in 2 ways, either through entrance exams with specified guidelines from colleges & universities or on the basis of 12th marks:

Direct Admissions:

Direct admissions take place through enrolment by process at colleges & universities. The list is prepared as per the marks obtained by students in class 12th who have enrolled for admissions.

Entrance Exams:

Some universities conducts examinations & some like Delhi universities admits students based on their performance in national or state level entrance exams like CUET, IPU CET and NPAT.

Core Subject:

The students studies the advance concepts of Accounting, Business Mangement& Economics and applies all the foundational concepts learned in class XIth & XIIth. The subject included in B.com are:

Eligibility for B,com Course:

The different universities & colleges have different criteria & preferences, So here are some of the common eligibility criteria:


Students must have completed class 12th from recognised board of education.

The minimum percentage required differs from college to college. Some colleges prefers the students with minimum of 45 % in senior secondary education where as Universities like Delhi universities ranges to area of 99 percentile.

The students from any stream who have cleared the 12th board examination with minimum required marks specified by college are eligible for admission, but students from commerce background gets more preference than any other.

For admission in B.com some colleges prefer the entrance exams. Post exam clearance the colleges often have their own criteria of candidate selections along with marks obtained in entrance exams & secondary education marks.
